Posey Capital Management provides comprehensive financial planning and portfolio management.  What this means to you is that you will have one go-to professional to coordinate all of your financial needs.

Step 1: Initial Meeting.  A meeting with us to get acquainted is the first step in getting all your financial matters taken care of.  There’s no charge for the meeting.  Our objectives are to give you a clear idea of what we do, and to enable both of us to determine whether your needs and our services are a good fit. 

The first step for the first meeting is to fill out a short Financial Planning Questionnaire (PDF file or Word document) and fax or email it to us. 

Step 2: Retirement Cash Flow Plan.  We start by listening to you.  Your goals and values drive your financial plan.  First, we evaluate your retirement prospects objectively, in light of historical investment returns and spending expectations.  We want you to have the peaceful feeling that comes from understanding and confidence that your financial resources should last throughout your retirement years. 

Step 3: Investment Education. Face it:  Most financial advisors really don’t want you to understand investing.  They figure that, so long as you don’t understand investing, you’ll need them. 

Our approach is different.  We figure that the more you understand, the more you’ll appreciate what we do for you.  And we believe that a fundamental grasp of investing will lead to a sense of peace and confidence that your investment portfolio can support your income needs in your retirement years.  When the markets are down, a true understanding can help you hang in there for the long term, and avoid worry and loss of sleep as well.

Investing is much more interesting that most people assume.  And it’s empowering for our clients when, often for the first time, they feel they have a fundamental grasp of a subject that is so important to them.  We are willing to take the time and energy to get you there. 

Step 4:  Comprehensive Financial Plan

  • Retirement Cash Flow Projection.  After the investment education, you and we will choose an investment portfolio together.  While past performance is never a guarantee of future performance, the past is our best guess about the future.  So we’ll use the historical rate of return in your retirement cash flow projection, giving you a reasonable projection of your financial future for planning purposes.
  • Education Funding.  We will help with strategies to tax-efficiently fund your children’s and grandchildren’s educations.
  • Employment Incentives and Employee Benefits.  We can provide objective advice on your employment incentives and benefits, stock options, restricted stock, phantom stock and deferred compensation plans.
  • Insurance.  We review all kinds of insurance including life, long-term care, disability, homeowners, auto, umbrella and other insurance.  Remember, we don’t sell insurance so we can give you objective advice on what insurance you may need. 
  • Legal Asset Protection.  No matter how much insurance you have, what if some huge liability outruns it?  We’ll examine this potential with you.  We’ll recommend legal asset protection planning beyond insurance if appropriate for you. 
  • Business Succession Planning.  If you have a family business, we’ll help you with strategies to pass the business on to the people you care about. 
  • Estate Planning.  Without careful tax planning the death tax can take up to half of your property.  We help reduce unnecessary taxes, so the money and other property you have built up over a lifetime can benefit your family.
  • Plan Implementation.  After your plan is complete we help you implement it.  We provide references to counsel if needed for legal and tax matters.  We coordinate the services of counsel on your estate planning, wills and trusts.  We assist with obtaining life insurance and long-term care insurance from no-load or low-load insurance providers.  We monitor progress and report to you.
  • Regular Plan Updates. We update your financial plan regularly.  We are always there for you and we want you to call.  Serving you with objective advice is what we are here for. 
  • Continuity and Communication.  At your option, we can meet with you and your family to help explain the estate planning alternatives you have chosen.  After a family member passes on, we will be there to provide the family with objective advice they can rely on. 
  • No Conflict of Interest.  Remember, we never sell any financial products, and we accept compensation only from our client.  Our objectivity and impartiality will be especially important when you are not there to defend your family.  We will be in their corner – with no financial incentive to do anything except to serve their best interests over the long-term.  Our best interest is served by helping you build your family legacy.
