Thomas L. Posey, CFP, J.D., AAMS

Tom Posey is the founder and president of Posey Capital Management. He is an attorney and accountant as well as a Certified Financial Planner. Also an Accredited Asset Management Specialist, his extensive background in money management includes serving as the chief of the investment committee of one of Houston’s largest financial advisory firms before founding his current firm.

Formerly a faculty member at Rice University's School of Continuing Studies, he taught in the University’s Certified Financial Planner Certification Education Program. The program includes retirement planning, estate planning, education funding, insurance, income taxes and investments. He also has lectured at the University of Houston Law Center on the uses of trusts in estate planning and asset protection. (Please click here for a complete listing of professional affiliations.)

His career includes ten years as chief financial officer of Orbix Corporation, an international oil field equipment manufacturer, where he was responsible for accounting and tax matters, as well as the acquisition of businesses and product lines. Tom’s legal career includes an emphasis on business mergers and acquisitions and other business matters. He previously was with Hutcheson & Grundy, LLP, a regional business law firm in Houston.

Tom attended Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where he graduated in 1979 with a B.B.A. degree in Business Administration and a B.A. degree in Psychology. In his spare time, Tom and his wife Šárka enjoy playing with their young son.  Tom also loves reading (mostly history), and he and Šárka are looking forward to family hiking and camping when their son is older.

Jeff Eschman

Working closely with Tom Posey, Jeff Eschman serves as the firm's Director of Planning. Jeff has passed the CFP® examination and is a candidate for certification as a Certified Financial Planner®. Jeff also is a registered Professional Engineer.

Jeff founded his own fee-only financial advisory firm, Brazos Financial Advisors, before joining Posey Capital Management. Prior to his financial planning career, Jeff enjoyed a successful career as an engineer and project manager. Jeff worked for 15 years for Marathon Oil, where he gained experience in management, finance and economics, budgeting, cost management, risk control and long-term planning.

Jeff graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990 with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also is a graduate of the CFP® Certification Education Program at the School of Continuing Studies at Rice University in Houston.

In their free time, Jeff and his wife Jill enjoy traveling internationally and sailing on Galveston Bay.

Kristin Johnson

Kristin D. Johnson heads up our customer service and operations team. Kristin helps with all of our clients' day to day needs and also manages client account set-up and servicing, electronic access, and performance reporting for client investment accounts.

Kristin's previous experience includes service as an operations specialist for a major brokerage house, and as a senior cash management analyst at a major mutual fund company.

Born and raised in San Diego, Kristin has been a full-fledged Texan for nearly a decade now. Kristin enjoys spending free time with her husband and two young daughters, as well as reading the works of her favorite American authors John Steinbeck, Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost.

Danielle LaMarche

Dani LaMarche, Administrative Assistant, helps coordinate office operations, providing excellent service to the firm’s clients. Dani’s previous experience includes providing administrative support to companies located in Austin and Houston.

Dani is currently pursuing a degree in business administration, with a minor in political science, from the University of Houston. After graduation, she plans to pursue a law degree. In her spare time, Dani enjoys yoga, reading, volunteering at a local charity and running at Memorial Park.

Šárka Posey

Šárka Posey founded the company with Tom and served as its operations manager for several years, leaving in 2007 to become a full-time mom for son Chester.  Born in the Czech Republic, Šárka was graduated in 1989 from Umelecko Prumyslova Skola in Prague. In 2001, she earned her B.A. degree in Management of Information Systems from the University of Houston, where she was graduated summa cum laude. Šárka earned her Registered Paraplanner designation in 2002 from the College for Financial Planning, Denver, Colorado. Šárka still serves as an advisor to the company.
